Who We Are

The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) provides low-income residents with home inspections and evaluations. Based upon the evaluation, homes may qualify for a variety of ways to save energy and increase efficiencies, such as insulation, roof replacement, weather stripping, window/door sealing, and repair/replacement of the current heating systems. There is a waiting list for assistance.



STEP refers clients to the Department of Social Services (DSS) for assistance with a crisis heating or cooling problem.



STEP is a private, nonprofit Community Action Agency that operates about 20 programs designed to assist low-income persons in Franklin County and Patrick County, Virginia break the cycle of poverty.
