Financial Assistance for Heating

CAPUP offers financial assistance to help provide oil for people in need who have either exhausted their funds or do not qualify for federal or state assistance.



Other programs help pay heat or heat-related bills for people in need who have either exhausted or do not qualify for Federal or State assistance. The program is intended to pay for energy sources used for heat or heat-related bills.



The applicant must live within the company service area, and should make partial payment of bill (this should be worked out with the agency). Applicants who heat with oil, wood, kerosene, coal, propane/bottled gas, must be in danger of losing the primary source of fuel. Applicants with utility bills, must have a bill cut-off notice. This requirement does not apply to adults over age 60, who have an account in their names.
