Accessible Transportation

Virginia Regional Transit operates, manages, and plans fixed-route, demand response, and commuter transportation services. The organization delivers efficient, cost-effective, and quality services for riders so they can move about their communities and live their lives fully. The organization strives to be the provider of choice for their customers, looking to offer transportation as a vital community resource.

Individuals wishing to utilize the Complementary Paratransit and/or Deviated Fixed Route service are required to complete an ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) application.  ADA Complementary Paratransit and Deviated Fixed Route Services are made available to all origins and destinations within a width of ¾ of a mile of each side of a fixed route. This includes an area within ¾ mile radius at the terminus of each fixed route as well.  Applications can be obtained via fax, mail, in person, or downloaded. The completed application will include a licensed or certified health care professional attesting to the passenger’s disability and that such disability would prevent the passenger from independently using the fixed-route transit or accessing a fixed-route transit bus stop.
