Who We Are
Catholic Charities of Eastern Virginia, Inc. (CCEVA) offers programs and services for those who are considering adoption. These programs include Domestic Infant Adoption, Parental Placement Adoption Services, Domestic Home Study Services, Kinship Adoption, International Adoption Services, Post-Adoptive Education and Support Services and Adoption Search and Disclosure Services.
Catholic Charities of Eastern Virginia’s Post Adoption Program uses the evidence-based Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) approach developed by Dr. Karen Purvis and Dr. David Cross. The goal of the program is to help educate, support, and provide tools and materials to help families maintain successful adoptive placements, especially for families who have adopted children and backgrounds.
Three levels (Tiers) of support are available and families may work in collaboration with their social worker or Catholic Charities staff to determine which Tier of service would be most appropriate for them. All services are free of charge.
Catholic Charities of Eastern Virginia’s Post Adoption Case Management Program is a grant-funded program by the Virginia Department of Social Services. This program provides twelve months of case management services to any family who finalized an adoption through the Virginia foster care system after July 1, 2017. Families should be automatically referred by the regional adoption negotiator. This program provides advocacy, support, service coordination, the location of needed services, and adoption-friendly events throughout the year.
