Who We Are
The Memory Disorders Center at Georgetown University Hospital provides clinical services and conducts research studies for patients with Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders. The multidisciplinary team of doctors at the GUMC Memory Disorders Program includes neurologists, nurse practitioners, geriatric psychiatrists, and research faculty and staff. Patients are provided evaluation, treatment, as well as follow-up care. Additionally, patients are offered the opportunity to participate in a variety of research studies, including studies of novel treatments and new diagnostic methods. Patients are evaluated for memory loss, language confusion, and other cognitive disorders.
A variety of diagnostic techniques, including neuropsychological tests, blood and urine analysis, clinical traits of experimental drugs, and other treatments are offered.
The Memory Disorders Program is conducting several clinical studies for patients in the early stages of dementia due to Alzheimer's disease. Depending on the person's medical status, he or she may qualify and wish to participate in other studies.
