Fairfax County Rental Program

The Fairfax County Rental Program (FCRP) includes housing for families, single persons, seniors and supportive housing for special populations with low to moderate incomes.  Units have a minimum rent requirement and thus a minimum income for eligibility. Some developments have FHA-insured, reduced rate mortgages and some units receive Housing Choice Voucher (formerly Section 8) subsidies, making them affordable to lower income households.

The Department of Housing and Community Development screens applicants for suitability for the FCRP program and conducts a home visit.  Residents generally pay a minimum rent or 30% of their household income, whichever is greater.
