Who We Are
VCU Health Orthopaedics has physicians who diagnose and treat patients of all ages to restore loss of function due to injury or disease, correct birth and/or growth abnormalities, enhance the quality of life for patients with chronic conditions and educate patients in the prevention of injury and disease.
Some common conditions treated are ankle sprains, arthritis and related joint problems, carpal tunnel syndrome, chronic or recurrent musculoskeletal pain, diabetes related foot problems, fractures of all types, knee problems (torn cartliage or ligaments), osteoporosis related problems, tennis elbow and more.
Non-surgical treatment may include casting, compression, exercise, physical therapy, rest, medication, etc. Some of the most common surgery procedures include arthroscopic surgery of the knee or shoulder, joint replacement, reconstruction of the knee, surgery of the hand or foot and surgery for the clavicle and lumbar spine.
