Who We Are

Mountain Lynx Transit provides weekly transit service to various parts of Smyth County. Limited daily service is now available on a test basis serving customers along Highway 11 to Atkins and customers along Highway 16 to the Mt. Rogers National Recreation Area Headquarters (NRA HQ). The route and schedule are available on the website. You can see which day of the week your area is served on the website.

Individuals are picked up at or near their homes in the county. The bus then travels to a commercial center where customers are taken to a destination of their choice. Multiple destinations may be accommodated depending upon other passengers and time limits   In-town customers are welcome to board any county route while it is in town. Destinations and stops on county routes are determined by the driver for the convenience of the county riders only.
