Who We Are

Hope Village provides a temporary shelter (transitional, residential housing) for homeless single women, as well as mothers with children, for a stay of 9 months. Residents are served 3 meals per day in addition to snacks and a bag lunch for work. Single women are sheltered in a separate building sharing room w/ 3 other women. Families have their own room.

To be a program participant, you must call the Regional Housing Crisis Hotline at 757-587-4202 and be referred to this program.

Staff is present 24 hours/day. Bus tickets are provided for job search and a company van is available for emergencies. The agency's prescription drug program will pay up to $50 toward medications.

The focus of this transitional housing program is to remove the barriers to self sufficiency.  Programs and services are flexible and can be individualized to the needs of each woman and her family.  Transportation services and flexible individualized service plans are also tailored to assist women in transition from homelessness to independent living
