Who We Are

The Alzheimer's Association, Southeastern Virginia Chapter, offers dementia care training for professional caregivers. The training and education programs are geared to professionals working in both community-based and residential care settings. Programs and meetings are attended by activity professionals, administrators, nurses, occupational and physical therapists, social workers and staff trainers.

The Alzheimer's Association Southeastern Virginia Chapter has been approved by the Department of Social Services to provide training required by 22 VAC 40-72-1120 of the Standards for Licensed Assisted Living Facilities.

The Professional Training Classes Schedule is available on the website.  These classes are available at no cost due to our partnership with Southside Geropsychiatric and the Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board.

Other professional training is offered on a fee-for-service basis.   Contact the office for more information.
