Who We Are

The Administrative Office for Madison County Department of Social Services offers information about benefits programs and services that promote self-reliance and protection through the provision of community-based services and help families meet basic needs.



Madison DSS is the agency that County citizens should contact for information and application assistance for various programs, including child care assistance; energy assistance (fuel, crisis, cooling, weatherization); SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program - food stamps); general relief; medical assistance (Cardinal Care Medicaid or FAMIS) and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF).
