Open University

The Shepherd's Center of Richmond (TSCOR) is a volunteer organization designed by active, independent, and engaged older adults who empower themselves and their communities through lifelong learning and volunteer service. Founded in RVA in 1984, TSCOR is an affiliate of the national Shepherd’s Center of America network.

Open University is the popular lifelong learning program of TSCOR. It features volunteer instructors recruited from Richmond’s university and professional communities. Eight-week sessions are offered during the fall, winter, and spring. It is only $45 per session for TSCOR members and $75 per session for non-members.

Lunch & Life is a four-week, online lecture series. It’s free and open to the public! Normally held in partnership with St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Lunch & Life is now online via Zoom until we can safely meet again in person.
