Weatherize Roanoke is a community partnership developed solely to help our residents enjoy the numerous benefits of energy efficiency in their homes. By pulling community resources together, the program helps every home be more comfortable and healthier and helps residents save money. The partnership includes utility companies, nonprofits, local governments, educational programs, and more. Residents may sign up for the program on the website.
Weatherize Roanoke is the one stop shop to improve a home’s energy performance. Weatherization is a proven way to reduce the home’s energy consumption by tightening up leaky walls and windows, improving the care and maintenance of heating and cooling equipment, and recommending of easy ways to save energy in your home with strategies, such as switching out conventional light bulbs with compact fluorescents (CFL’s) or light emitting diodes (LED’s).
Weatherize Roanoke connects residents to financial assistance and financing options. There are a variety of funds available depending on financial need, programs available through local utility companies, jurisdiction of the residence, and other local, state and federal programs The Weatherization program determines what funding residents qualify for and notifies them of the type of assistance to expect.
