Who We Are

The Lifelong Learning Institute (LLI) at James Madison University provides non-credit, leisure learning courses to adults age 50 and over. Members attend classes for the love of learning, without regard to previous levels of education. There are no tests or grades, rather self-satisfaction and intellectual stimulation are the rewards. Classes meet for 2 hours, once a week for 5 weeks.

Some of the classes offered are history and culture, literature, music, religions, health improvement and computer related topics.

Also offered are free brown bag lunches (open to non-members), and trips to various points of interest. The organization is a member driven with an advisory board and committee participation. Scholarship available. Trip prices vary. Brown bag lunches are free. Scholarships are offered.
