Who We Are

Richmond Railroad Museum, the Old Dominion Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society (NRHS), chartered in 1957, is a non-profit, volunteer-based, educational organization dedicated to the preservation of past, present, and future railroading in Central Virginia.  The Museum strives to interpret the social and economic impact that the area railroads and their employees had, and continue to have, on the Richmond area and its citizens.

Volunteers are needed to staff the museum, plan activities, participate in fund raising and to maintain the exhibits.

The facility includes a stationmaster's office, the freight room, a gift shop, and a room for a layout by a model railroad club.
