Who We Are

Oakleaf Forest is a public housing complex. Public housing, also known as subsidized housing or assisted housing, provides decent rental housing for eligible low-income families, the elderly and persons with disabilities. Housing ranges from single-family houses to high-rise apartments for seniors. NRHA's Housing operations division administers apartments in 16 Norfolk neighborhoods and provides a variety of support services to help residents of public housing improve their lives.

The community was named because the contour of the land is in the shape of an oak leaf. Offers 265 units on 24 acres.  The agency charges vary according to income in relation to the number of persons in the family. Rent is based upon 30% of the adjusted income.
