Motor Travel Recreation

Blue Ridge Parkway Plateau district is designed especially for motor recreation.  The Parkway provides quiet, leisurely travel, free from the commercial development and congestion of high-speed highways. It overlooks campgrounds, picnic areas, visitor centers, concessions, evening campfire programs, cultural displays and demonstrations, hiking trails and wayside exhibits.

Parkway opens year round if weather permit. Recreational areas are open May 1 - October 31.
