Who We Are

U.S. Forest Service manages and protects 154 national forests and 20 grasslands in 43 states, giving residents bike trails, hiking trails, camping sites, fishing areas, bird watching to enjoy.   Plan your trip, determine whether or not you will need a pass for the site you plan to visit by visiting the Interactive Map

Campers may use the toll free reservations number and/or the internet address operated by the National Recreation Reservation Service access information and reservations on thousands of USDA Forest Service and US. Army Corp of Engineers recreation sites, including camp sites and cabins. Reservations for individual site can be made for up to 8 months in advance.



Offers limited volunteer experiences through the Volunteers in the National Forest Program.
