Mountain Empire Transit

MEOC Transit (aka "Mountain Empire Transit") provides transportation to people of all ages on a demand-response basis with a 24-hour notice required. Service is available to those with canes, walkers, and wheelchairs, and to health and human services agencies wishing to contract with Mountain Empire Transit. Exact change is required.  Drivers cannot make change. Reservations are taken on a first-call basis. You will need to provide your name and location. First-time riders will need to provide additional details.

The public transit service is a “curb-to-curb” service. There are no “fixed” routes or dedicated “bus stops” where you can catch the bus. To arrange the trip, you must call MEOC Transit and provide certain information to the dispatcher. Without this information, your trip request cannot be processed.
