Learning in Retirement

ElderStudy is a membership organization of retirement-aged people who share a love of learning regardless of their previous educational background. ElderStudy is designed by the members to suit their interests. About 40 sessions (2 hours each) are offered each semester on diverse subjects. Classes are held on the University of Mary Washington Stafford campus, Route 17 North. 



Class topics vary from history, politics, theatre, science, the arts, literature, music, etc.  A Book Group, semi-annual luncheons and occasional field trips are also part of our program.  Members may attend as many sessions or as few as they wish.  Sessions usually do not require previous sign-up.



Membership fees for the academic year (September through May) are $72 for individuals. New members joining on December 1 (or later) pay a $40 fee for the remainder of the year. This program serves Fredericksburg and the surrounding counties.
