Cognitive Assessments and Treatment Planning

The Carilion Center for Healthy Aging offers a cognitive evaluation. The Center conducts thorough assessments to detect memory disorders and mild cognitive impairment, including lifestyle management for people with these conditions. The Mild Cognitive Impairment Clinic (MCI) offers assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and consultation for memory problems. MCI is an age-related memory condition that interferes with day-to-day activities and decision-making.

The Center for Healthy Aging stresses a proactive approach, so after we conduct the assessment, we will make recommendations about diet, exercise, nutrition, and stimulation. The Center for Healthy Aging works with a patient's existing medical team,  keeping them informed and involved.

• Consultation and guidance.

Family members are included in all programs and the Center offers support groups for caretakers.
