Senior Services of Alexandria is working with the City's Customer Connection Center on the 2nd Annual Senior Academy
Senior Academy is a four week course designed to provide Alexandria's senior citizens with an opportunity to gain exposure to the City's various government functions. The course will make the seniors aware of the local organizations that provide services and programs to seniors, and to help them get involved in their community. Topics may include Community Resources, Getting to Know your City, city services for seniors; and leisure and educational opportunities.
Enrollment is limitetd to 25 city residents ages 60 and older. Light refreshments are seved when the academy is in session. Classes are usually held on Wednesday from 10am until Noon on September 7, 14, 21 and 28. Graduation takes place during City Council meeting at City Hall.
Senior Academy is offered in the fall annually. Call for more information.
