Diabetes Management, Giles County

Carilion Giles Community Hospital Diabetes Management Program offers education, nutrition guidance, help in adopting a healthy and active lifestyle, how to control blood glucose through daily monitoring and exercise, and learn coping skills for day-to-day management of diabetes.  Services include:

• Individualized care
• Group instruction
• Emphasis on primary care physician follow-up and communication
• Special programs for pediatric and obstetric patients
• Patient follow-up and case management
• Lifestyle management education, including instruction about diet and exercise
• Insulin pump education
• Nutritional therapy provided by registered dietitians

Diabetes Management Program is accredited by the American Diabetes Association.
