Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)

The Virginia Department of Social Services administers the LIHEAP program through the Virginia Energy Assistance program, so eligible consumers can make an application at their local Department of Social Services office.

The application period runs from October through November. Virginia residents who are eligible and believe they may need assistance at any point in winter must apply before November 14th.  Make contact as early as possible to find out about other payment options if LIHEAP is not available.  The Customer Contact Center of Columbia Gas can be reached at 1.800.543.8911.
