Who We Are
Goal of Women's Health Services is to promote the health of women by providing outpatient therapy services targeted toward females. Many health problems, while not unique to women, are diagnosed more in women than in men. There is treatment to help.
Services offered are:
(1) Continence - Some women experience a sudden onset or gradual loss of bladder control due to childbirth, surgery, menopause or other factors. There are a number of successful non-surgical treatments available to improve muscle function and bladder control;
(2) Osteoporosis - Osteoporosis is the gradual loss of bone density often accelerated by the onset of menopause. A physical therapist can develop an exercise program to help re-build bone density and teach effective ways to protect the body and avoid injury;
(3) Pelvic Pain - Many women experience pain in the pelvic region. This can include pain or spasm of the vagina, pelvic or perineal region, pain with intercourse and/or menstruation. Each patient is unique and an individualized treatment program will be designed following a thorough evaluation. Successful treatments include postural and therapeutic exercises, modalities and education; and
(4) Pre and Post-Partum Pain.
A physician's referral is required for all services. Please bring a signed referral form to the first appointment. Many insurance companies will reimburse the cost of this service, so please have insurance information handy when the appointment is made.
Presently, Women's Health sees patients in 2 locations: 333 Cork Street, Winchester and Warren Memorial Hospital, 120 North Commerce Avenue, Front Royal.
