Who We Are
Petersburg Sheriff's office participates in Project Lifesaver. Project Lifesaver is a rapid response search and rescue service provided by local law enforcement offices for persons with Alzheimer's, Dementia, Traumatic Brain Injury, Autism, Down Syndrome or other disorders which may cause wandering. After the intake interview, a photo id is taken and a small electronic transmitter is placed on a wrist or ankle band. This program is 100% Volunteer staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Funding for this program is a result of private and corporate donations and grants.
