Who We Are

The Central Virginia Task Force on Domestic Violence in Later Life is a local partnership of organizations working since 1998 to raise awareness and improve the community response to women aged 50 and older who experience domestic, sexual or family violence. The Virginia Center on Aging administers two projects on behalf of this task force. These initiatives provide training, consultation, and resources to assist law enforcement, criminal justice professionals, aging service providers, domestic violence and sexual assault programs, and allied service professionals in working collaboratively and responding to the unique needs of women aged 50 and over who are victims of domestic, sexual or family violence.

To report suspected financial exploitation or other kinds of abuse to the elderly or adults with a disability, call your local department of social services or the 24 hour, toll free Adult Protective Services at 1-888-838-8238.
