Who We Are

The Administrative Office of the Norton Department of Social Services can provide information about benefit programs and services available to eligible individuals and families in the City of Norton.

Some programs are Financial Assistance Programs, such as Auxiliary grants, Child care, Disaster assistance, Energy assistance (fuel, crisis, cooling, weatherization), Food stamps, General relief, Medical Assistance (Cardinal Care Medicaid or FAMIS), Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) and Caregivers grants.

The Virginia Department of Social Services responds to the needs of seniors aged 60 and over, adults with disabilities over the age of 18, and other adults with specific needs. Call for Adult Programs available.
