Southwest Virginia Legal Aid Society provides legal services to a low-income people from three field offices located throughout Southwest Virginia.
Assists with Family Problems (divorce, nonsupport and custody). We give special assistance to victims of domestic violence. Also help with consumer and employment problems (hospital bills, utility problems, credit, garnishment, bankruptcy and job discrimination). Administrative Problems (Welfare, Medicaid, food stamps, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), unemployment insurance and education problems). Housing problems (Landlord abuses, bad housing conditions, public housing, security deposits, evictions and FHA problems). Other Problems (civil rights, wills and restoration of drivers license for habitual offenders).
