Who We Are
The Planning Council's Information and Referral Service, 2-1-1, is a free and confidential service for the people of Southeastern Virginia. Our data base of over 5,000 organizations, groups, agencies, and programs provides updated information on services for a variety of needs. Available by appointment, telephone or on our website, the Community Compass Directory of services gives information on services, contact name, hours of operation, fee schedules and program descriptions. Multiple resources and referrals are available for a holistic approach to solving human service problems.
If you have a problem to solve or a need for information about services, call 2-1-1 or visit our website to find answers. Our staff members are trained to recognize your specific needs and make the appropriate referral. When necessary, we are glad to help you communicate with service providers.
We can provide you information or refer you to agencies that can help with adoption, apprenticeship and job training programs, counseling services, day care, drug abuse treatment, education, employment services, family services, financial assistance, government agencies, handicapped services, homeless resources, housing, legal services, medical services, mental health services, mutual support groups, recreation, senior services, services to strengthen families, social groups, transportation, volunteer opportunities, women's services, youth services and much, much more!
