VRE provides morning and evening rush hour train service from Spotsylvania to Union Station in Washington, DC including stops at the Franconia and Springfield Metrorail station and the King Street Metrorail station in Alexandria. The train also provides morning and evening rush hour service from Broad Run to Union Station. The mid-day train service is limited.
Schedules and fare and ticket information are available on the website. Train status is also available on the website.
The VRE Mobile App is available in the Apple and Android App Stores.
All trains are equipped with a lift and accessible bathroom in the lead car for riders using wheelchairs or scooters. VRE stations do not have station attendants. Visit Disability Information
VRE's cross-honor agreement with Amtrak allows VRE multi-ride passengers the ability to use the Amtrak trains listed on the VRE schedule. VRE's cross-honor agreement with MARC allows VRE riders, with valid tickets, the ability to transfer for free to reverse-flow MARC trains. Reverse-flow trains are defined as trains that are going in the opposite direction of the rush-hour commuters.
