Who We Are

The Rappahannock County Health Department, part of the Rappahannock/Rapidan Health District, offers environmental health services. Environmental services include education, inspection, regulations, and enforcement services to protect the public's health. Health department staff make routine inspections and investigate complaints, review new or remodeling construction plans for regulated facilities, investigate rabies reports, and provide permits for septic systems and wells.

The health department also provides county residents with comprehensive preventive health care that includes a broad range of diagnostic and treatment services, in addition to the above environmental health services. Services are available on an ability-to-pay basis and target low-income and indigent residents of the community.  The facility is fully accessible to persons with disabilities.
