Lawyer Referral

As a public service, the Fairfax Bar Association sponsors a Lawyer Referral and Information Service.  The program was designed to assist those who are able to pay normal attorney fees but whose ability to locate legal representation is frustrated by a lack of experience with the legal system, a lack of information about the type of services needed or a fear of the potential costs of seeing an attorney.  These attorneys can provide evening, weekend, Spanish-speaking consultations, same-day appointments, or the Lawyer Referral and Information Service will try to make special accommodations for you.

During a 30 minute consultation, the attorney will evaluate your legal situation and advise you about your options.  A $40.00 referral fee that supports this service is to be paid when you meet with the attorney for the initial half hour consultation.  For your convenience, you may charge the referral fee on Visa or Mastercard.  Further legal services, if necessary, should be discussed with the attorney. Attorneys may charge either a flat fee or by the hour.  Make sure you understand the attorney's billing procedures.
