Art Program for Seniors, Studio S

Studio S is a program that offers free art classes to seniors in Richmond's East End.  Research shows when older adults take art classes, they tap into their creativity, discover hidden talents and participate in new social opportunities.  Working with colors, patterns and textures can improve their memory and increase their dexterity.

Studio S participants take classes in a variety of media, including clay, wood, fiber arts, painting, printmaking, glass and drawing. In addition, they enjoy guided tours of exhibitions in VisArts’ True F. Luck Gallery.

This program is a partnership with Senior Connections, The Greater Richmond Senior Center, the YMCA and the Peter Paul Development Center.
