Who We Are
EFAPE, the Emergency Fuel Assistance Program for the Elderly, provides emergency fuel assistance to low income persons 60 years or older, when they are unable to purchase sufficient fuel with personal funds or government fuel assistance benefits. Assistance is give in the form of coal, oil, or wood, or payment toward a past due electric or gas bill to prevent the disconnection of the service.
Interfaith Outreach Association provides assistance to those who are in need of help with:
- Utility terminations
- Evictions
- First month’s rent
- Security deposits for utilities
- Toiletries
- Cleaning supplies
- Holiday assistance
Calls are taken at all hours during the months of operation, mid October-mid April.
Interfaith’s application process requires information about household income and expenses. After the information is verified, the organization is able to offer monetary assistance, without giving directly to the client, once every twelve months.
