Who We Are

Speech & Hearing Clinic at the University of Maryland provides speech, language and auditory evaluations; aural rehabilitation; hearing aid fitting and orientation; and speech and language therapy.  Offers services to persons of all ages. Serves those with physical and mental disabilities. The clinic is operated by the Department of Hearing and Speech Sciences as both a training and research facility of speech-language pathology and audiology.



Admission Procedures: Services of the Speech and Hearing Clinic are available to anyone who seeks them, regardless of age. While referrals are frequently made by medical, dental and education personnel for evaluation and/or treatment services, it is necessary for the client or his parents to make the initial contact requesting services.



The University of Maryland Speech and Hearing Clinic is a training and community service facility, therefore services are provided for minimal fees.

Intake Process
The client should telephone (301) 405-4218 or write the Speech and Hearing Clinic to request an appointment for a speech or hearing evaluation. A standardized form requesting information will then be mailed.
