Who We Are
Scott County maintains many parks for residents and visitors:
- Duffield Community Park with tennis, baseball and softball field, walking trail, picnic area, basketball court, concessions, restrooms, playground;
- Weber City: volleyball, tennis, playground, walking trail, picnic areas, basketball court, concessions, fitness stations;
- Dungannon Town Park: tennis court, basketball, playground, swings and picnic shelter;
- Keith Memorial Park (Nickelsville): baseball, walking trail, picnic areas, playground, restrooms, concessions, War Memorial, Senior Center, basketball court and amphitheater.
One feature of Scott County is the Natural Tunnel, called the "Eighth Wonder of the World" by William Jennings Bryan. It has been attracting sightseers to the mountains of southwestern Virginia for more than 100 years. Today it is the focal point of Natural Tunnel State Park, a park which offers visitors not only spectacular sights but also swimming, camping, picnicking, hiking, a visitor center, an amphitheater and interpretive programs.
Location: Natural Tunnel State Park is in Scott County, approximately 13 miles north of Gate City and 20 miles north of Kingsport, Tennessee.
