Caregiver Support Groups. The need for caregivers to be connected to a community of support is greater now than ever before. In these challenging times, we are offering virtual support groups led by experienced facilitators via telephone or online. Alzheimer’s Association caregiver support groups are a safe and supportive place for caregivers, family, and friends of persons with dementia. The Southeastern Virginia Chapter hosts several virtual support groups throughout the month. Visit our Chapter Calendar to register. All of our support groups are held via Zoom and can be accessed by computer or phone. The sessions are free, but registration is required so that we may send you log in information. Call 800.272.3900 if you need help or want more information. Choose your group. There is a support group on the 1st Wednesday of the month from 7-8 pm and on the 2nd Wednesday of each month from 2 - 3 pm. A group meets on the 1st Thursday of the month from 2-3 pm and on the 2nd Thursday of the month from 11 am - 12 pm. Another caregiver support group meets on the 3rd Friday of the month from 2-3 pm. The support group that meets on the 4th Wednesday of the month from 2-3 pm is designed specifically for those with a loved one in a care community.
