The U.S. Bureau of Engraving and Printing, BEP, is under the U.S. Department of Treasury. Here is where the United States currency is created. They offer a Meaningful Access Program which has a U.S. Currency Reader. All United States citizens or persons legally residing in the United States who are blind or visually impaired can request a free currency reader from BEP. The application is provided in both English and Spanish and must be filled out completely, signed by a competent authority who can certify eligibility, and returned to the mailing address provided on the form. The application is "form fillable" in a PDF file but it can not be submitted electronically. It must be mailed into the BEP for processing.
