Get DirectionsWho We Are
The Behavioral Health Services of the Center for Child and Family Services offers two Domestic Violence groups:
- Domestic Violence (DV) groups for men and women who have been charged or struggle with couple or family violence. These groups meet for 18 or 28 weeks depending on violence history and risk assessment. The groups are a certified batterer intervention program through the Virginias Against Domestic Violence and the Coalition for the Treatment of Abuse which enforces the use of best practices in working with batterers.
- Domestic Violence Orientation (DVO) groups for men and women who have been charged or struggle with assault and battery in an intimate or family relationship, but the violence is a first time occurrence with no other safety issues. The group meets weekly for 12 weeks with an average of 15 participants.
