Who We Are
Bon Secours Cancer Institute at St. Mary's consists of a multidisciplinary team of specialists, an outpatient infusion center and an up-to-date comprehensive Resource Center. Among the services offered by The Cancer Care Center are diagnostic services such as breast screening and digital mammography.
The medical oncology unit is staffed by experienced nurses, many of whom are oncology certified. Patients are admitted for chemotherapy, biotherapy, symptom management, diagnostic workups, pain management, and palliative care.
The Center provides a variety of services for ambulatory patients and treatment for oncology patients such as the administration of blood products, chemotherapy, biological agents, and antibiotic therapy. The Infusion Center is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 am until 5 pm and Saturday and Sunday from 7:30 am until Noon.
Chemotherapy, radiation therapy, surgery, biotherapy, and other treatments are used individually or in conjunction to help patients combat their cancer and reduce the risk of reoccurrence. Treatments available for prostate cancer are radical prostatectomy, seed implant, radiation therapy, and hormonal therapy.
Cancer care specialists representing all disciplines meet to design treatment plans tailored specifically to each patient's situation. The Cancer Care Center is accredited by the American College of Surgeons.
