Who We Are
The Weatherization Assistance program provides funds to reduce the heating and cooling costs for low-income families, and to ensure their health and safety. Priority is given to the elderly, individuals with disabilities, and families with children.
The program provides repairs and improvements to home heating and cooling systems and provides for the installation of energy-saving measures in the house. After meeting with Weatherization program staff and applying to the program, a home energy audit will be scheduled. The audit will help identify the best energy-saving measures that are cost effective, healthy, and safe. Each Weatherization project is different and the services performed will vary.
The program provides direct installation of energy-saving measures such as: sealing air-leaks with insulation, caulking, and weather-stripping; repairing leaky duct systems; repairing and/or replacing inefficient or unsafe heating systems; and installing carbon monoxide and smoke detectors. Accessibility: Fully handicapped accessible.
