VICAP and Medicare Part D

The Prince William Area Agency on Aging offers health insurance counseling.  Virginia Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program offers health insurance counseling assistance to seniors, their families and caregivers. VICAP educates, assists and counsels older consumers on health benefits programs, Medicare, Medicare Advantage, Medicare Part D, Medicaid and long-term care insurance. 

Specific assistance includes: explaining insurance benefits and helping to understand, file or resolve Medicare claims; comparing Medigap plans, Medicare Advantage plans, Medicare Part D plan and other health care coverage choices; and exploring longer term care insurance needs and comparing policies. Assistance is provided by telephone or in person. The Agency also provides a speaker on Medicare topics to local groups and organizations. There is no fee for either service.
