Who We Are

JABA staff provides free health insurance counseling to assist people with Medicare or ACA insurance. This service is part of the statewide Virginia Insurance Counseling and Assistance Program (VICAP).

Virginia Insurance Counseling and Assistance Program (VICAP) is a free counseling program for individuals eligible for Medicare and their families. VICAP helps them to understand and enroll in appropriate Medicare plans, including prescription drug plans, and apply for assistance in paying for their prescription drug plan.

Also, VICAP can provide help with the medical bill paying process for those having problems with Medicare and can help with decisions about Medicare Supplement (Medigap) insurance and Long Term Care insurance.

The VICAP specialist will meet by appointment at 674 Hillsdale Drive in Charlottesville.  Phone appointments can be arranged when necessary.
