The Orchard Grove community in Pearisburg, Virginia, consists of 30 duplex-style rental homes that incorporate architectural and aesthetic elements found in nearby single-family neighborhoods--such as front porches, clapboard siding, and street lamps. There are 10 two-bedroom units and 20 three-bedroom units rented to those earning at or below 60% of the area median income. Constructed in 1998, the property features a playground for resident children, pedestrian-friendly sidewalks, and native landscaping.
