Workforce Development Center, Montgomery

Goodwill Industries of the Valleys operates the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) program for multiple Workforce Investment Areas (WIA) in Virginia. The program is designed to help adults receive training in demand occupations and find employment.   The WIOA Adult and Youth programs are under contract to the New River Mount Rogers Workforce Investment Board.  

Job seeker services include job search and placement assistance, including career counseling; initial assessment of skills and needs; information on available services and programs; labor market information identifying job vacancies, skills necessary for occupations in demand, and relevant employment trends; and follow up services to assist in job retention.   The One stop center provides integrated, user-friendly, and responsive services to the community of employers, workers and job seekers.

The Youth program provides comprehensive youth services to eligible individuals.   Activities are individualized and dependent on each client's circumstances and needs.  In-depth assessment and individual service strategies along with a wide variety of additional activities ensure that needs are met and goals are achieved.
