Who We Are

The mission is to provide information to improve the quality of life for individuals who are deaf, hard of hearing and/or deaf/blind, as well as to educate the public about the needs of those individuals in the community.  The Virginia Department for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (VDDHH) is a contact to provide outreach services. 

The VDDHH Outreach program offers information and referral; workshops; training; a device demonstration center; newsletter; meeting room; classes in sign language and coping skills; and an assistive equipment loans program called The Technology Assistance Program (TAP).
The program also provides consultation to schools, businesses, churches, government agencies, and organizations; speaker's bureau for people interested in learning more about hearing loss.
