Low Income Apartments for Elderly

Marywood Apartments has one bedroom apartments for seniors age 62 and over or adults with disabilities.  The number of accessible or modified units is around 50.  The accessible units are located on different floors.  The building entrances are wheelchair accessible.  There are handicapped parking spaces, curb cuts, grab bars (shower/tub), wide doorways (wheelchair accessible), ramps with hand rails, low cabinets, sinks, and countertops, raised toilets.

Each apartment home comes fully equipped with stove, refrigerator, garbage disposal, wall to wall carpeting, and individually controlled heating and air conditioning. Each apartment contains an emergency pull cord system which is monitored twenty-four hours a day.  Specially designed barrier-free apartment homes are available to accommodate those residents who are mobility impaired.

Van transportation to shopping and grocery store.  Daily and evening activities programs, on-site beauty salon, and central laundry room on the first floor.  Public transportation is 1/8 mile from the building.

As a participant in the U.S. Department of HUD Section 8/202 program, rent is based upon 30% of a resident’s annual income and includes all utilities except telephone and cable service. Applicants must qualify for the rental assistance and qualifications must be verified on an annual basis.
