Employment | Senior Community Service Employment Program

Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) provides meaningful part-time paid work experience to persons who are 55 and older, and who meet low-income guidelines. Eligible participants may be placed in community service agencies, non-profit organizations and private industry. Each enrollee is provided with an annual physical examination, personal counseling and job related counseling. The program pays enrollees hourly wages during the time that they are being trained.

The long-range goal is to secure permanent full-time or part-time employment with the host agency or business. During the training period, enrollees have the opportunity to develop new skills toward alternate career opportunities while gaining valuable work experience through exposure to various job placements during enrollment. Funding for this program is provided by the Older Americans Act.
