Health Information

The National Health Information Center (NHIC) is a health information referral service which links consumers and health professionals who have health questions with organizations best able to provide answers. The Center maintains an on-line directory of more than 1.700 health-related organizations that can provide health information. They include Federal and State agencies, voluntary associations, self-help and support groups, trade associations, and professional societies. Also prints directories and resource guides on a variety of health topics. Publications are free, but handling fees apply.

Health Finder features links to government and nonprofit health information resources, as well as my health finder which provides personalized recommendations for clinical preventive services specific to the user's age, gender, etc.

Health.gov is the home of the Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (ODPHP) and the go to site for disease prevention and health promotion information and resources.

HealthyPeople.gov is a website for health professionals with tools and resources for exploring health objectives and impacts.
